Hand Spun and Hand Dyed Wool and Yarns
BMA is proud to have some 5 hand spinners in the group. Most wool is hand spun and hand dyed with natural or "green" dyes from locally raised sheep, alpacas, llama and angora rabbits. BMA even has hand spun yarns from dogs and cat hair blended. Each spinner creates her own style of yarn, some very wild novelty yarns and some very conservative beautiful 2 ply sports weight yarn. It is always changing and more spinners are interested in joining the group to sell their work at BMA.
In addition to the hand spun wool, BMA offers mill spun wool from local shepherds, such as Windrush Farm, Lost Coast yarns, 10 acre Tomales Bay Yarns and Feline Fibers. As well, BMA has a small selection of commerical yarns from Brown Sheep, Cascade, Muench Yarns, Classic Elite and Silk City. BMA is the West Marin dealer for Louet spinning wheels and weaving equipment.

Bo-Rage Yarns
Bo-Rage Yarn is Marlie's brand. (Borage is a blue flower, Bo is Bolinas where the yarn is made and Rage speaks for itself) Most skeins are hand spun and "green" hand dyed wools and yarns. Most wool skeins are from locally raised sheep, scoured, carded and hand spun in Bolinas. The commerical dyes used are the "greenest" available, meaning they are made with the least toxic materials and are color fast. Truly a low carbon footprint yarn. Shepherds and farmers are checked to see they raise their animals in a stress free environment, and most fleeces are chosen at shearing time. There is a close connections between the shepherd/ farmer and BMA members.
